My Aunt Margaret’s Mirror

This is one of the short stories written by the classic writer Sir Walter Scott. This story is about an old man who talks about his memories regarding his family and what he was like. He relates his stories to his Aunt and how she played an important role in their family life. Here you will read about the Aunt relaying stories also about a ghost that she heard from her years back. This short story is very good and teaches lesson about an unworthy husband who often gets into trouble. The style in this book is like the characters are found out in a sort of magic mirror. The excerpt says, “The busy scene of her various cares is now over. Of the invalids and the robust, the kind and the rough, the peevish and pleased children, who thronged her little parlour from morning to night, not one now remains alive but myself, who, afflicted by early infirmity, was one of the most delicate of her nurslings, yet, nevertheless, have outlived them all.”
