So, you have joined the thousands of EBook users across the country. Now the new dilemma, what to do with all those books you have in your possession? Before you make that decision check out so ideas that may help.

-Donate them to a library or a book drive. Just because technology is a sign of the times doesn’t mean libraries or bookstores are out of business just yet! If you have downloaded your favorite books on your EBook, you can give them away to organizations. They will be more then happy to have them in their collection. Plus, you will have a tax write off which is always helpful!

-Include them in your next garage sale. Today you can find just about anything at a garage sale and books are always being featured. Turn those unwanted books into a profit, making your clutter someone else’s treasure.

-Give them away as gifts. It may sound odd to give something as a gift you have already used, but you don’t have to wait until a special occasion. If you have books that you think someone could use or it may help them, pass it along so they can be enlighten. Just make sure it’s in good condition. Used doesn’t mean abused!

-Most important, you may want to keep them. If all else fails, including the EBook, you may want to keep those books handy just as a precaution. At some point you may get tired of looking at that screen and want to see the words on the pages in the natural. Or your reader may not work in a particular day. After all, it is technology. At least you will have a back up source so you won’t miss out on what the story entails. There are many people who prefer to keep books on hand to have them in their homes for show.

The palm PDA has many applications in business and entertainment. It can be used as an ebook reader with which you can view books in the form of electronic documents on your palm. Obtaining a palm compatible electronic document is very easy.
Go to any palm website. You will find a list showing your region or your country. Look for your region or country and click on it. This will take you to the palm home page corresponding to your country or region. Click on the ‘software’ tab under “menu” in the page. A new page will open. Place your cursor on the “eBook Store” link on the right menu. The cursor will transform into a hand sign showing that the link works. Click on it. This will open the palm ebook store for you.

Search an ebook using the search box. To do so, type in the name of the author or the title and click search. If you want more options for searching, click on the ‘Advanced Search” option. You can enter the ISBN number of the ebook or browse through the book categories in the categories section. You may also use the “Browse by Author’ tab. To browse by subject you are interested in click “Browse by Interest”.
Before you choose an ebook to download make sure that particular ebook is available in the file format compatible with your palm PDA. Ebook readers can only deal with specific file types. Some file types can be easily viewed by your web browser.
Click on download button. Choose a folder on your desktop computer or your laptop where you want to store the ebook. If you don’t have a suitable folder, then create one. Click on the Save button. The download will take some time depending on the size of the ebook file.

Finding ebooks compatible with palm PDA

Electronic books may have won many fans and may have secured support from a large number of individuals. However, this is not to say that the field is completely free of controversy. Copyright management is a very big issue as far as digital and electronic books are concerned. Entire libraries are stored in the computer. In such a scenario, third party book sellers and e book reader sellers may be in a position to access and manipulate your libraries.

In a shocking move, seller of world’s most popular e book reader deleted copies of certain books from personal libraries of customers. This was done because the seller did not have the authority to sell the books. This snowballed into a big controversy because deletion of books was done without permission of the owners of the books. To put things in perspective, the act of the company was no different than a stranger entering your house and destroying your asset simply because he did not have right to sell the same.

That the libraries were set up on the internet and were accessible to sellers and service provider made a huge difference. Today, privacy becomes a very big issue with online books. Such practices related to electronic books may lead to online censorship. A change in policy on the part of one seller may result in deletion of books from the libraries of millions of customers. That they may have paid for the same and may be enjoying legal access becomes irrelevant.

These are issues that will have to be sorted out before electronic books can claim to be better than standard books, but for now those who wish to hang on to their books and maintain security and privacy for all their others files, users should download drivers that maintain tight security even when users are not logged in. Today, a paper book purchased and kept in the library cannot be touched without your permission. The issue is muddled in case of electronic books and one cannot say for sure whether one’s personal library will be free of external interference. The author, publisher, book seller, e book reader seller, service provider maintaining the library and the customer- there are too many parties involved.
