Well, traditionalists, your concerns are understandable, but you shouldn’t be afraid of the e-book revolution. Here are some reasons why the Amazon Kindle is a fantastic invention– and in some cases, better than regular books.
It’s Lightweight and Portable
You’re going on a relaxing vacation and you don’t feel like taking eight books with you in your carry-on. Bring the Kindle instead. It’s lightweight and can hold up to 1500 books– that’s certainly more than your duffel bag can hold. You can easily slip it into a purse or briefcase (wish we could say the same about your copy of War and Peace). Balancing a coffee in one hand or clinging to a subway pole? No problem: your Kindle has both front and back page-turning buttons on both sides so you can read one-handed.
It Isn’t Backlit
The Kindle doesn’t cause eyestrain because it isn’t backlit: it uses e-ink technology so the print looks just like regular ink on a page. You can read it for just as long as you would a normal book.
