More and more, I am learning that I need to take stock of what matters most in my life. As I learn what my priorities are, one of the things that I realize is that I want to take more photographs. Photographs are a great way to create memories that you can hold close to your heart. You can go through digital photographs or physical copies and remember all of the great things that you have accomplished in your life. Film cameras and digital cameras are both capable of meeting this very important need to capture the moments of your life.

It really doesn’t matter what you photograph. Just take pictures of the things that matter to you the most. Halloween with your family, cute kids costumes, and dressing the children up for Christmas are all camera-worthy, as are family reunions, special occasions, and trips to the park. Anything that brings about positive feelings or makes you think “I want to remember this” should be photographed so that you can bring up these positive feelings again in the future. You should be able to conjure up happy feelings of the past and all the things that have mattered to you throughout the years. Taking photographs is a great way to do this.

You do not need a lot of money to buy a camera that’s capable of helping you capture memories. A simple point-and-shoot will do the job if you’re willing to learn its features. You do not need a camera worth several thousand dollars to create images that will remind you of the good times. But if you do not buy a camera and use it as often as you possibly can, then you will quickly experience regret; later in life, you won’t have tangible ways to remember and relive the past.
